My Passion

I have found great passion in creating the colors and textures which eventually bloom into a bold, vibrant flower. Being inspired by vivid colors and dimensional texture, flowers provide a beautiful palette for me to explore. For me, flowers have always induced feelings of joy, peace and warmth. These feelings are what I try to capture and convey through my paintings.  In painting these flowers, I feel as though I have bloomed internally as a person, a mother, a friend and an artist.  I am grateful every day for the opportunity to share my passion for art and flowers.

I am actively involved in encouraging others to explore their path in art.  I am an an instructor and volunteer at the Plymouth Community Arts Council and teach hands on workshops throughout Michigan.

 

My Path

Before fully committing myself to art, I had spent most of my life dabbling in various forms of art. In 2008, after hitting a creative wall and feeling an intense pull to nurture my creativity, I took an acrylic painting class and finally felt like I found my true calling. I enjoy the versatility of acrylic paints and the opportunity it provides to integrate mixed media. I continue to explore new ways to incorporate a variety of textural elements to each of my paintings. I share my work through instructional workshops, multiple juried exhibits, art fairs, galleries, hospitals and social media outlets. 

 

Joy of Sharing

In 2016, I completed extensive training in New Orleans to become a Golden Artist Educator. I now teach workshops focusing on GOLDEN products, their uses, techniques and methods of application at various locations.

 

Flowers Blooming outside my Studio

I am so happy when someone finds joy in my work. In March of 2014, my piece 'Enlightened' was placed on permanent exhibit at the Henry Ford Hospital in Bloomfield Hills.  Henry Ford Hospital has since purchased work for three of their Michigan locations. I have been interviewed on WJR-Detroit AM Radio and in the Plymouth Observer. My work has been displayed on WDIV-Detroit ABC TV.  In 2014, my work was juried for entry into ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
